We flew to CA to visit Shimmy and family earlier this month. She had a whale watching trip planned for us at Dana Point, about 50 miles south of LA. As usual, with the unpredictable CA weather, we were rained out. We toured the area on foot and then went to San Juan Capistrano for lunch. We didn't tour the 'Mission' because there were 6 of us and the tickets to get in were $9 each. So here are a few photos from the day.

Ciao Pasta in San Juan Capistrano - good Italian eats!

The boat we were to take! WonderMom was not amused!

Last night was our farewell dinner with OfficeCat and and NASCARguy. We ate at a Black Angus (found one that was still open!) and then went to their place for homemade blueberry pie and ice cream. Mmmmmm! We also dropped off our AZ only equipment (sewing machine, printer) to spend the summer in a more moderate environment than exists in our unit during the sizzling Phoenix summer. OfficeCat did a great job of keeping us busy this year, serving as our cruise director. We really appreciated it. She is offering to do it again next year. What a gal!
If you're interested at all, you can keep track of our simple and uneventful life at Back at The Ranch for the rest of the year.
So long for now
