Here We Go Again

We're back on the road, headin' West.  Tonight (Monday) we're in Joplin, MO, just 8 miles from the Oklahoma border.  This is the first year we've stopped in Joplin. In the past, we've driven all the way to Tulsa.  This year, we decided to shorten the first day of the trip so we didn't have to hurry closing up the house to get all the way to Tulsa at a decent time.  This shortens the first day by 120 miles.

We'll spend tomorrow (Tuesday) night in Santa Rosa, NM, about 120 miles short of our usual stop, Albuquerque.  This will add the same distance to our last day, which is normally a pretty short drive.  Instead of getting into Phoenix at 2 PM, we'll get there around 4 PM (Just in time for rush mess!) Hopefully, this schedule will work out better than the old one.

The weather, today was beautiful. Around sixty degrees under a cloudless sky.  Haven't seen this much sun for weeks!  Tomorrow and the next day look to be the same.  What a relief after the 2 weeks of really rotten weather we had back home.

That's all for tonight.  More tomorrow from Santa Rosa.
