Arizona has some interesting laws, by mid-west standards.
It is OK to carry unrestrained kids in the back of a pickup truck, but dogs must be restrained or caged.
Arizona is a concealed carry state, so any number of people you meet on the street may be carrying a firearm. Last year, there was an effort afoot to amend the law so it was legal to carry a concealed weapon into a bar! Don't know how that one came out yet.
This year, there is a push to allow TEACHERS to carry firearms IN SCHOOL! Gives a new meaning to the three R's - Readin', ritein', and revolver! The local police are thrilled, of course, because all of their training for handling weapons fire in the schools assume that only the bad guys will have guns!
I don't know, maybe it will entice more teachers to stay in AZ or come to AZ to teach. They have such a serious teacher shortage here that there are non-certified personnel supervising classes until a teacher is free to attend to the class.
Just thought you might be interested to know it is still the wild West out here!
